List of human rights

  • Right to Life: Every person has the inherent right to life and shall not be arbitrarily deprived of their life.
  • Right to Liberty and Security: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest or detention, and everyone has the right to liberty and security of person.
  • Freedom from Torture and Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.
  • Equality before the Law: Everyone is equal before the law and is entitled to equal protection under the law without discrimination.
  • Freedom of Thought, Conscience, Religion, and Belief: Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and belief, and the freedom to manifest their religion or belief in practice.
  • Freedom of Expression: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression, which includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas.
  • Right to Work: Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favorable conditions of work, and to protection against unemployment.
  • Right to Education: Everyone has the right to education, which shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Primary education shall be compulsory.
  • Right to Adequate Standard of Living: Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of themselves and their family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care.
  • Right to Housing: Everyone has the right to adequate housing, which means living in security, peace, and dignity.
  • Right to Health: Everyone has the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health.
  • Freedom from Discrimination: No one shall be subjected to discrimination based on race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status.
  • Right to Nationality: Everyone has the right to a nationality, and no one shall be arbitrarily deprived of their nationality or denied the right to change it.
  • Right to Privacy: Everyone has the right to respect for their private and family life, home, and correspondence.
  • Right to a Fair Trial: Everyone is entitled to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal when facing criminal charges.
  • Freedom of Assembly and Association: Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.
  • Rights of Refugees: Refugees have the right to seek asylum and protection from persecution in other countries.
  • Rights of the Child: Children have special rights, including the right to protection, education, and participation in decisions affecting them.
