Ambedkar Student’s Association is an open platform for the students and scholars of Pondicherry University
Our main focus is to become a student support group which aims to develop a critical understanding of issues such as caste, gender, race, class, etc. ASA derives its ideological path from the anti-caste and pro-people ideology of democratic movements which were uncompromisingly led by Dr. B.R Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, Fatima Shaikh, Birsa Munda, Jaipal Singh Munda, Periyar, Ayyankali, Steve Biko and other leaders of different marginalized groups. We get our inspiration from Black movement and struggles of indigenous communities across the world too who led for self- respect and freedom. Those among were Angela Davis, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Marcus Garvey and so on. We are committed toward propagation of a scientific, pro-people, anti-caste, anti-racist and gender just culture.
